Jobs: For Job Seekers
Employment & Training Options

"I can't believe it. I was just laid off after 17 years. After 17 years in the plant, cutting steel is all I know. I've been looking for a job in the same field, but no one seems to be hiring. I have a family to support..."

Job Assistance at The Information CenterWhen a job loss becomes personal, the need to know resources and options becomes personal too. Make one call and get in touch with a world of choices. Our trained and certified Work Force Development Professionals will connect you with services that help you explore career options, find current job openings, and develop a plan that is right for you.

The Information Center is a part of Southeast Michigan Community Alliance's (SEMCA) Michigan Works!, a One-Call/One-Stop system that connects individuals and businesses with the services they need. We provide the initial assessment, help you find resources that may be preventing you from employment, and direct you to the appropriate service and training agency to meet your needs. From there, you will find help getting your job or career search started.

You will be connected with a whole host of opportunities including access to a new, Internet-based, electronic, labor exchange (webpage) where you can enter your resume and review current job listings. If you have access to the Internet, you can do it from your own home. If you do not have Internet access, you will be directed to a One-Stop Center that does. If you need specialized services, due to a disability or for other reasons, you will be directed to where you can access them. If there are other barriers to work, we will help you find resources to overcome them.

One-Call does it all! Call (800) 285-WORKS. Call today.

Funding for this program is through the Southeast Michigan Community Alliance, tax-dedeuctible donations, corporate contributions, and foundation grants. Equal Opportunity Employer/Program.
